Agencies in Hull have a good track record of working together to improve the lives of people and communities. The strength of our partnerships is demonstrated by our shared vision and pride in the city, and our commitment to ensuring we develop and adapt to meet new challenges and opportunities.
In 2011 the need for a greater focus on the local economy together with new, statutory responsibilities around Health and Wellbeing and the introduction of Community Budget pilots, means our partnerships are evolving.
Building on existing partnerships, the changes will strengthen and streamline our delivery structures, ensuring we are able to harness the knowledge, skills and resources of all public, private and voluntary sector partners to deliver real and lasting improvements in the lives of the people of Hull.
With a renewed emphasis on delivery, we will put the City’s Partnership Strategy into action. Specifically, we will:
A City Leadership Board has been established to drive forward the delivery of our Partnership Strategy, succeeding the One Hull Executive Group. This Leadership Board is supported by delivery boards for each of the key strategic partnerships:
Work has also started on developing a clear and straight-forward approach to engaging and communicating with all sectors across the partnership, including the voluntary sector, the use of consistent customer intelligence in decision making, the activities of Area Partnerships and focused Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.
In addition the partnership will also develop a consistent approach to commissioning new services. One of the Community Budgets pilot projects is now working to produce a draft commissioning and procurement framework, to be developed by October 2011 and tested with all sectors through the Business, VCS and other forums.
