Local Area Agreement

The Local Area Agreement (LAA) will deal with areas which are of most concern to local people, and will simplify complex funding streams in order to create more flexibility in the provision of services which address local needs.  The LAA will create better and more effective working between the Council, Government Departments and members of the ONE HULL Partnership, and would give local people a stronger voice and greater influence over decision making.

The voluntary and community sector is key to the success of the LAA, being able to identify local priorities and concerns, and therefore, has a key role in the development and the delivery of the LAA over time.

Local business equally has a key role to play in supporting the delivery and development of measures designed to attract investment, create employment and stimulate opportunities for people to set up their own businesses. A successful bid for extra money through the local economic growth iniative (LEGI) would be part of this.

The LAA would comprise of the following four blocks:

The LAA will identify priorities and set operational targets. Meeting or exceeding those targets will bring financial rewards to the City over the next three years. The LAA will build upon the vision and priorities set out in the City's Community Strategy, Living, Learning, Working.
