Since May 2003, the Park Area comprises of four electoral wards: Holderness, Marfleet, Southcoates East and Southcoates West.
Holderness and Southcoates West wards are predominantly private residential areas. Holderness Ward providing more high demand housing within the catchment area of Malet Lambert School. The Southcoates East ward comprises predominantly the Preston Road Neighbourhood Development Company Project (PRNDC) with the majority of housing being provided by Hull City Council.
The Marfleet ward comprising of four distinct areas of which the majority consists of Hull City Council properties and one comprising of housing trust properties. There are small areas of private Housing within the Marfleet Village area and along Hedon Road. A substantial part of the major East Hull Industrial Area of the dockland, Industries and Port Areas are within Marfleet Ward
The Park Area covers part of the Holderness Road shopping area and various neighbourhood shopping areas on the estates and along Southcoates Lane, Marfleet Lane, Gillshill Road and Newbridge Road.
An important area of business and employment is the Sutton Fields Industrial Estate within Holderness Ward, which also includes large commercial retail outlets as well as recreational facilities.
The Park Area is also home to the Hull Kingston Rovers home ground, the Craven Park Sports stadium and leisure facility, which includes a competition standard go kart track , as well as the Woodford Leisure Sports and Recreation Centre and the very important public amenity; East Park.
