Hull’s Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) ONE HULL aims to bring together the public, private, voluntary and community sectors to create a better City.
More effective joint working at local level is one of the keys to successful progress in delivering sustainable, social and physical regeneration. The Partnership seeks to improve the quality of life of local people, particularly through better learning, health, prosperity, safety and the environment – and shares resources and decision-making at a neighbourhood level.
The aim of ONE HULL is to achieve a number of ambitious and challenging targets set out in the Community Strategy and Local Area Agreement – as well as ‘narrow the gap’ between poorer communities across the City and in relation to the rest of the country. Areas covered include:
- Increasing Educational Attainment;
- Reducing Crime and the Fear of Crime;
- Increasing Employment Rates;
- Improving Public Health;
- Housing; and
- Liveability.
Working to reach out more to help vulnerable and hard to reach groups in society, such as young people, older people, and residents from black, ethnic and minority groups, as well as other marginalised groups, is also an important element of our work.
ONE HULL is about sharing common goals, information and areas of best practice – and promoting the benefits partnership working can bring. The successful delivery of ambitious targets set out in Hull’s Community Strategy can only be achieved by working as an effective partnership. This relationship is key to achieving our Vision and successfully promoting Hull as a Living, Learning and Working City - as set out in the Community Strategy.
Hull’s transformation will be seen in all parts of the City and in all walks of life. Changes will be realised in education, housing developments, improvements to facilities in the City Centre, safer, cleaner neighbourhoods, and better opportunities for local people to develop new skills, live healthier lives, and influence what happens in their communities.
Everyone in the City has a role to play in making these changes and improvements happen. By working together, we can achieve our ambitions, now and for future generations.
