From Cityvision to new Vision to ONE HULL

Since May 2006, Hull’s Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) started to adopt its new name ONE HULL.

Marketing research had raised a number of issues about the public profile of the Partnership and how residents confused Hull’s LSP (then Cityvision) with other organisations. We appreciate your feedback and so, before we launched the City’s a new Community Strategy, we renamed ourselves as ONE HULL. Now everyone in the Partnership works under the same name.

In July 2006, ONE HULL - which aims to bring together at local level the different parts of the public, private, community and voluntary sectors to improve the quality of life for local people – was ready to launch its exciting and “challenging” Community Strategy for the City.

Following a comprehensive consultation process, this important strategic document outlines how a range of key partners will work together to create a safe, healthy and more prosperous City.

As partners progress towards Hull's long-term vision, a sustainable Community Strategy will reflect any changes in local needs and services, as well as meeting those aspirations for the City set out in the Local Area Agreement. The 'live' document will clearly set out how the ONE HULL Partnership will improve the economy and create new jobs, how we can open up learning opportunities for people as well as create a skilled workforce, and how we can improve the quality of life for local people.

It is an exciting time for ONE HULL. We have listened to your views and developed a Website to include a data observatory for partners, as well as a community area with the latest ONE HULL news, events and downloads for partners and local people to access.

A special Email Notification System will ensure all registered members are kept informed of any developments, while a special reference library will ensure residents and partners alike are briefed on our progress as we work towards achieving our long-term vision for the City through the Community Strategy and new Local Area Agreement.
